Yura began his career in the beggining of 1998 in his native city Rostov-on-Don It`s all began occasionally due to the simple music composing software. It was his first attempts to produce his own tracks and nobody knows when he will become professional in this field. A year later his first tracks were included in local compilations. His project was named Impulse and it was very commercial, but he was 18 and he found it`s funny. There were two people in project, they were producing music together, drink and smoke together. It was a good time when you think that all door are open for you and just enojoing the life. There was a time when 2 tracks speed garage was played everywhere. Then after a years of constant gigs their music transformed into break beat with hip hop lyrics. It was a time when they had to music fast to have something to gig with. But Yura didn`t like such way and wanted to move to a club music format. In 2003 the "Impulse" project was terminated and Yura had a long lasted rest after which he moved to a progressive and techno music without vocal. In 2005 Yura was at one of the electronic festival on the sea shore on the Black Sea and once again he understood that club music is what he want to do. He totally feeled the spirit of the club scene. He tryed to work with different vocalists, drumers, guitarists but finally he had decided that PC is the only thing he need. In 2007 the VIZA project appeared which consist of two people Yura and Lera. But the project seems to be a bit commercial and Yura decided to spent much time on his own career. So in 2008 he began to work under Yura Popov name. He spent much time on working with every sound and not on recording vocal and other things. Nowadays Yura Popov is working with such labels as Avangardia, Pure Substance, Magnolia Digital, Polytechnics, Bellarine and Real Music. Also he is working on his future live sets and planning to start gigs as Yura Popov over the Russia. Yura Popov is using mostly Ableton, on which he is moved from Cubase recently and seems he is happy with it. Ableton helped him to bring his all ideas into a life, all his solo tracks are made using thing sequencer. Also his favourites VSTs are CronoX, PlastiCZ, Pro 53, Albino, Minimoog, Battery drum machine, different Waves plug ins and some others.
