Musician and producer Colin C. (aka Slighter/The Pushers/Visitor Seven/Consoul) has established himself as a global player in the Electronic culture with his ever growing discography. Colin’s enthusiastic love of music has fueled his desire to set up multiple projects over the years. Early on, his Deeptone project propelled Colin into the global DJ culture. In 2005, the prolific Lost Language label released his thunderous Breakbeat remix of John Graham’s seminal hit “Stage One” to an eager audience. Colin’s original Deeptone productions “Fuse” and “Decompression” became well known worldwide by a double A side vinyl release on UK based Heavy Rotation. A release that was well supported by many DJs including Sasha, Anthony Pappa, and Nick Warren. Moving away from the Trance influenced Deeptone work, Colin set out into darker territory when he teamed up with UK DJ’s Red and Blue to jump start their new label Adjust Recordings in early 2006. Colin made a hand full of remixes for the label, including a remix of Dan Welton’s “Lisopain” which landed on Hernan Cattaneo’s “Sequential” double CD for Renaissance. More currently, The Pusher’s has been creating more waves with the release of “A Pusher’s Theme” for Polytechnic and “The Get Through EP” for Pole Folder’s new label 80Hz Recordings. In contrast to his House oriented work, his Slighter alias might just be the most personal. Incorporating a love of Breaks and his background in Industrial, Colin teamed up with Erphun to release “Illicit Behaviour” on INgrooves in 2007. From there Colin helped as a songwriter on Erphun’s “Paradise Cursed” for Progrezo as well as releasing the “Sleaze & Skeeze EP” on Polytechnic in 2008.
Relentless is an understatement when describing Colin’s commitment to his work. Bunkered down in his Los Angeles Based studio, The Cell, he’s poised to let loose even more mind bending grooves with Polytechnic throughout 2009.
